CPSP Has Issued a Strict Reminder - Here Is What It Means for You

If you are currently training under FCPS or MCPS, or planning to start your fellowship journey, this is one notification you cannot afford to miss.

On 30th May 2026, the College of Physicians & Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP) issued an official notification (Ref# CPSP/Sec/2026/400) under the signature of Prof. Irshad Waheed, Secretary & Acting Registrar CPSP, reminding all accredited institutions across Pakistan to strictly comply with the CPSP Stipend Policy for FCPS and MCPS trainees - with immediate effect.

What Is the CPSP Saying?

CPSP has formally noted that certain accredited institutions have not been following the notified stipend guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) — despite repeated instructions. This notification is a direct warning to those institutions and a protection of your rights as a trainee.

The key message is clear: pay your trainees what they are legally entitled to, or face consequences including loss of accreditation and denial of July induction rights.

Official Stipend Rates — Effective Immediately

The CPSP has confirmed the following mandatory stipend rates for all trainees:

Fellowship Level Monthly Stipend
FCPS / MCPS — First Fellowship Rs. 104,000/- per month (BPS-17 equivalent)
FCPS — Second Fellowship Rs. 150,000/- per month

These are not suggestions. These are minimum mandatory amounts that every accredited institution is legally required to pay their registered trainees.

Why Does This Matter for Your FCPS Journey?

As a trainee, your stipend is not a privilege — it is your right. Here is why this notification directly affects you:

  • Your institution is now legally bound to pay you the notified stipend or risk losing accreditation.
  • July 2026 inductions will only be granted to institutions that are fully compliant with this policy. Non-compliance could directly affect your training timeline.
  • Accreditation is at risk for institutions that continue to ignore this policy — which could disrupt your ongoing training program.
  • You now have official documentation to reference if your institution is not paying you the correct amount.

What Should You Do If Your Institution Is Not Complying?

If you are a trainee and your institution is not paying you the CPSP-notified stipend, you have the right to raise a formal complaint directly with CPSP through their official channels:
